It’s hard to believe that 2018 is coming up fast. It barely feels like any time has passed since we were shrugging of the remnants of 2016’s hangover, yet here we are, about to enter the last leg of 2017. Is your digital marketing ready for the end of the year?
Since there’s only a few months of the year left, it’s a great idea to make sure that all aspects of your marketing are running as smoothly and efficiently as they can, so you can really end this year with a bang (but sadly not a bong as Big Ben has been silenced until 2021.)
So, let’s have a look at some digital marketing statistics to help get you on track for the last few months of 2017!
We’ve talked time and time again on this blog about the importance of making sure that all your digital marketing tools are optimised for mobile. Given that practically everyone nowadays is searching on the go, having a website that isn’t mobile responsive is basically the same as not having one at all. With one quarter of web searches made on mobile/tablets by over one billion people, if you aren’t making sure that you’re catering to them then you’re really behind with the times. Make sure you’re covering all your bases before you enter next year, however people are going to view them.
And for many of us we know that we can often spend a lot more time than that on these sites! When you find yourself with nothing to do or stuck waiting somewhere, who’s first response isn’t to whip out your phone or laptop and have a scroll down your various social feeds to see what’s going on. Social media has evolved into a monster over the past decade, with it now being the only way some of us keep up to date with, not just friends, but news and industries as well. Popping up on social feeds is one of the best ways to worm your way into people’s minds, as well as showing that you like to keep your customer base up to date with what’s going on with you and your industry. Check out our other blog post about it HERE.
There are a lot of ways to demonstrate the use of your product/service, and a video is one of the most interesting and eye-catching ways to do that. As humans, we process visual stimulus much faster than textual, and in general, if there’s video attached, then people will watch. There’s a reason that 1.3 billion people use YouTube, plus there’s also a pretty even spread of ages that use the site so it’s a great way to spread your message to a very wide demographic.
Let’s not forget about the importance of email when it comes to digital marketing. Email has been around in one form or another for almost forty years now and a well written email marketing campaign is a great way to stay fresh and relevant in the eyes of your consumers as well as helping to solidify new ones. Unlike a quick social media update, an email can go into much greater depth about what you want to convey. It’s a great way to let your readers know what you’ve been up to periodically as well as a great way to showcase new ideas and drive more traffic to your website! See our previous post on in HERE.
