There’s no getting away from it. Re-marketing is everywhere we look. How many times have you been reading your Facebook news feed and an ad pops up from a website you were viewing just hours ago? In fact, there’s a strong chance that if you’re reading this article – give yourself a pat on the back and count yourself among the special ones – you’ve just been re-marketed too as well. There’s a reason to all this madness however – re-marketing works – actually, really bloomin’ well, see below to read 4 ways how….
1. Research shows that re-marketing to users who have already engaged with your website are 70% more likely to convert on your website. That’s quite a jump, but think about it, would you rather go on a second date with someone you’ve already had a great time with or would you rather go on a date with someone you’ve never met before?
2. It’s cheap! AdWords is brilliant. It brings you relevant customers to your website and it generates leads and sales. One thing it isn’t though – is cheap. Clicks can often cost upwards of £5.00, for a click. That’s a lot of money wasted if your site or campaign is not set up correctly. Re-marketing ads on the other hand – can cost as little as 10p a click. And you’re not just displaying ads to any old Charlie either, the people seeing them have already interacted and engaged with your website.
3. You can get really creative with your ads. Online advertising doesn’t (and shouldn’t) have to be annoying. An ad should appeal to the target audience, and provide them with a pleasing user experience. 60% of consumers are neutral about the topic of re-targeting ads, and 30% even said they enjoyed them.
4. You can get really creative with your audience. How about showing a 15% discount for those users who added items to a shopping basket but didn’t complete the purchase? Or narrowing down your audience further by showing a specific ad to males only? There’s literally hundreds of cool ways you can re-engage with lost customers.
